Comprised of eleven short stories, The Vicious Ladies illuminates a spectrum of Latinx and immigrant women voices, including party crew hustlers, a reluctant college-educated chola, a Oaxacan graffiti artist, and an inadvertent lumberjack mother, who are resilient and continuously rely on the strength of their mujer networks to overcome, sometimes supernatural, obstacles.
The title of the collection comes from my short story by the same title, “The Vicious Ladies,” (previously published by BOMB Magazine).
